Warranty Policy

California Propane is committed to providing customers with products that meet applicable quality and safety requirements. Where a product is covered by a manufacturer or California Propane warranty, the applicable warranty terms will govern the warranty coverage available to the customer.

1. General Warranty Information

Warranty coverage is not necessarily provided for every product sold by California Propane.

Where a warranty applies, the applicable warranty may be provided by:

  • California Propane.

  • The product manufacturer.

  • An authorized supplier or distributor.

  • Another party identified in the applicable product documentation.

The specific warranty period, coverage, exclusions, and claim requirements may vary by product.

Customers should review any warranty documentation supplied with the product or communicated at the time of purchase.

2. Manufacturer Warranties

Where a product is covered by a manufacturer’s warranty, the manufacturer’s applicable warranty terms may govern the claim.

Manufacturer warranties may specify:

  • Warranty duration.

  • Covered components.

  • Eligible defects.

  • Required installation conditions.

  • Maintenance requirements.

  • Warranty registration requirements.

  • Authorized service requirements.

  • Exclusions.

  • Claim procedures.

  • Available remedies.

California Propane may assist customers with contacting or submitting information to the relevant manufacturer where appropriate.

3. California Propane Warranties

Where California Propane provides a specific warranty for a product or service, the applicable warranty terms will be communicated to the customer.

A California Propane warranty may include specific requirements concerning:

  • Warranty duration.

  • Product condition.

  • Proper installation.

  • Proper use.

  • Maintenance.

  • Documentation.

  • Inspection.

  • Warranty claim procedures.

No California Propane warranty should be assumed unless it is expressly provided or otherwise required by applicable law.

4. Warranty Coverage

Where applicable, a warranty may cover defects in materials or workmanship or other issues specifically identified in the applicable warranty terms.

Warranty coverage generally applies only to the product or component covered by the applicable warranty.

The warranty does not automatically cover damage or problems caused by circumstances outside the applicable warranty terms.

5. Conditions for Warranty Coverage

Warranty coverage may require that the product has been:

  • Used for its intended purpose.

  • Installed correctly where installation is required.

  • Operated in accordance with manufacturer instructions.

  • Maintained appropriately.

  • Handled in accordance with applicable safety requirements.

  • Stored appropriately.

  • Used in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Where applicable, customers may be required to provide proof of purchase or other documentation before a warranty claim can be evaluated.

6. Warranty Exclusions

Unless otherwise provided by the applicable warranty or required by law, warranty coverage may not apply to damage or problems resulting from:

  • Misuse.

  • Abuse.

  • Neglect.

  • Accidental damage.

  • Improper installation.

  • Unauthorized modification.

  • Unauthorized repair.

  • Improper maintenance.

  • Failure to follow manufacturer instructions.

  • Use for an unintended purpose.

  • Improper storage.

  • Improper handling.

  • Normal wear and tear.

  • Cosmetic damage that does not affect functionality.

  • Damage caused by external conditions.

  • Damage caused by unauthorized alterations.

  • Damage resulting from improper transportation after delivery.

  • Use contrary to applicable safety requirements.

Specific exclusions may vary by product.

7. Propane and Related Equipment

Propane products, cylinders, containers, regulators, valves, appliances, and related equipment may be subject to specific safety, inspection, maintenance, installation, and regulatory requirements.

Warranty coverage does not replace or override applicable safety requirements.

Customers should not attempt to repair, modify, dismantle, alter, or tamper with propane equipment in an attempt to resolve a warranty issue unless they are appropriately qualified and authorized to do so.

If a propane product or container appears damaged, defective, or unsafe, customers should stop using the affected product where appropriate and contact California Propane for guidance.

8. Warranty Claims

To submit a warranty claim, customers should contact California Propane as soon as reasonably possible after discovering the suspected defect or issue.

Please provide, where available:

  • Customer name.

  • Order number.

  • Proof of purchase.

  • Product name.

  • Product model or identification number.

  • Serial number, where applicable.

  • Description of the problem.

  • Date the problem was discovered.

  • Photographs or videos where appropriate.

  • Information about installation, use, or maintenance where relevant.

Additional information may be requested where reasonably necessary to evaluate the claim.

9. Warranty Evaluation

A warranty claim may be reviewed to determine:

  • Whether the product is covered.

  • Whether the warranty period remains active.

  • Whether the reported issue falls within the applicable warranty.

  • Whether the product has been used and maintained appropriately.

  • Whether any applicable exclusions apply.

  • Whether additional inspection or manufacturer evaluation is required.

California Propane may request that the product be inspected by an appropriately qualified person or manufacturer representative where necessary.

10. Warranty Remedies

Where a warranty claim is approved, the available remedy will depend on the applicable warranty and applicable law.

A remedy may include:

  • Repair.

  • Replacement.

  • Replacement of a component.

  • Refund.

  • Credit.

  • Manufacturer-authorized service.

  • Another remedy provided under the applicable warranty.

The specific remedy is not necessarily determined solely by the customer’s preferred outcome and may depend on the applicable warranty terms and legal requirements.

11. Replacement Products

Where a warranty replacement is approved, the replacement product may be the same model or a substantially equivalent product, depending on availability.

If the original product is no longer available, the applicable warranty provider may offer an alternative remedy where permitted by the warranty and applicable law.

12. Repair Services

Where repair is an appropriate warranty remedy, repairs may be performed by California Propane, the manufacturer, or an appropriately authorized service provider, depending on the product and applicable warranty.

Customers should not independently arrange unauthorized repairs where doing so could affect warranty coverage.

13. Warranty Shipping and Transportation

Where a warranty claim requires a product to be returned, transported, inspected, or replaced, California Propane will provide appropriate instructions.

Customers should not ship or transport propane, fuel, pressurized containers, hazardous materials, or other regulated products without receiving appropriate instructions.

Responsibility for applicable transportation or shipping costs will depend on the circumstances of the claim, applicable warranty terms, and applicable law.

14. Proof of Purchase

Proof of purchase may be required to establish that a product was purchased from California Propane and to determine the applicable warranty period.

Acceptable documentation may include:

  • Receipt.

  • Invoice.

  • Order confirmation.

  • Transaction record.

  • Other reasonable proof of purchase.

If you cannot locate your original documentation, please contact us so that we can determine whether the transaction can be verified through other available records.

15. Warranty Transfer

Whether a warranty can be transferred to another person or property depends on the applicable warranty terms.

Customers should not assume that a warranty automatically transfers following the sale, transfer, or relocation of a product.

Where transferability is permitted, additional requirements may apply.

16. Warranty and Returns

A warranty claim is different from a general return request.

A product may be eligible for a return or refund under our Returns & Refunds Policy without necessarily being covered by a warranty.

Similarly, a warranty claim may provide a repair, replacement, or other remedy without creating a general right to return the product.

Customers should contact California Propane if they are uncertain whether their situation should be handled as a return, refund, or warranty claim.

17. Warranty and Cancellation

Warranty rights generally apply to products that have already been purchased and are subject to an applicable warranty.

Cancellation of an order before fulfillment is handled under our Cancellation Policy.

A warranty claim should not be submitted as a substitute for cancelling an order that has not yet been fulfilled.

18. Third-Party Manufacturer Warranties

Where a manufacturer provides the warranty, the manufacturer’s warranty terms may control the claim.

California Propane may assist with the warranty process where appropriate but does not alter or independently expand a manufacturer’s warranty.

Customers should review the manufacturer’s documentation for specific warranty requirements.

19. Statutory Rights

This Warranty Policy does not exclude, restrict, or replace any consumer rights, statutory warranties, remedies, or protections that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable federal, state, or local law.

Where applicable law provides rights or remedies beyond those expressly described in this policy, those rights remain available.

20. Warranty Limitations

Any warranty limitations or exclusions described in this policy apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or limit liability, warranties, or consumer protections that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

21. Policy Changes

California Propane may update this Warranty Policy from time to time to reflect changes in products, manufacturers, warranty arrangements, business practices, or applicable legal requirements.

The updated policy will be published on this page.

Changes to this policy will not retroactively remove warranty rights that have already accrued where prohibited by applicable law.
